Every game, we celebrate the fact that the Knicks stole Tim Hardaway Jr. at the end of the first round. Today, we celebrate his 22nd birthday. Ah, to be young again.
Hardaway Jr. has only been with the Knicks for 66 games, but has quickly become one of the team’s top offensive weapons. He boasts averages of 10.2 points and 1.7 threes per game over his short career, which has already been filled with tons of highlights. Back on January 30th, THJ set a career-high when he dropped 29 points on the Cavaliers. He nearly broke that mark last week with a 28-spot against the Sixers. With this franchise’s propensity to give away draft picks for basically anything, the development of his game has been a nice change of pace.
At 22 years old, the sky is the limit for New York’s best, young asset. After the game-winners and tough-guy antics that his father beset on this city, who would’ve ever thought that New York would enjoy rooting for a Hardaway of their own?
Happy 22nd, THJ! And here’s to many more in blue and orange.
